Amanda Long

Studio Assistant
Amanda Long

Amanda Long has been an artist her entire life. Her fascination started as a child, when her mother, a seamstress, introduced her to beautiful textiles and fabrics. She went on to receive formal training in sculpture at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and was a co-owner of Mash Handmade in Westport. She worked with artists across the country to showcase their beautiful, handmade home accessories and functional art.

As the studio assistant, she uses her Tetris skills to bring order and organization to the studio. One of her favorite things about working for LSID is being surrounded by the exquisite textiles in the materials library!

Amanda recently relocated back to Kansas City from Sweden, where her love affair with commuting by bike and cold weather hikes took root. Outside of the studio, she can be found rebuilding spaces at home with her husband, discussing the most award-winning “would you rather” questions with her son and hand beading Swedish landscapes in her art studio.
