It is exciting to be a Kansas Citian, especially in these last few weeks! Between attending a Royals playoff game, Meyerfest!, the Evil Monkey Party, and the amazing IIDA Color and Couture Fashion Show, we’ve had some fun in just the last week. We scored VIP tickets to Kansas City’s Color + Couture Fashion Show last Friday, thanks to our local Daltile Rep!
This International Interior Design Association (IIDA) event represents local architecture and interior design firms using their design skills, creativity, sewing talent and their own models to rock the runway in outfits made themselves. The firms are randomly paired with local reps, and they receive a box of materials, such carpet, tile, wall covering, resilient base, etc. The creations can only use what is in the box. This year’s pantone color of the year, radiant orchid, was the inspiration.
The party was packed with over 900 people, there was a Best Dressed from the audience (more radiant orchid than we’ve ever seen!), and characters on stilts! We cannot wait to attend again next year!
Here are a few of our photos. See more at the Color and Couture Facebook Page!
