Interior Designer / Assistant

 

Lisa Schmitz Interior Design is an innovative Interior Design Firm specializing in luxury, modern residential design, as well as commercial, multi-family, historic, and hospitality projects.

The Interior Designer Assistant assists the Design Team and Administrative Team, in order to maintain a productive working environment and facilitate successful design projects. The Interior Designer Assistant supports the Design Team and Administrative Team and contributes to the overall productivity and efficiency of company projects. The Designer may act as a representative for the company and a liaison between the design team, contractors, and vendors.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist Principal Designer and Project Designer and Team on interior design projects
  • Construction documentation: floor plans, elevations, sections, furniture layouts, reflective ceiling plans, site plans, material specifications, interior details,
  • Gather and prepare quotes on furniture, finishes, equipment (calling vendors, installers, fabricators)
  • Simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects and furniture orders from start to finish and identify ways to meet the clients’ needs most effectively; constantly multi-tasking
  • Pick up and deliver items as needed, run errands for project/studio needs
  • Upload photos, edit, and organize for reference, presentations, social media, and marketing
  • Assist in analyzing design objectives (style, budget, function) and make appropriate selections
  • Prepare for presentations (quotes, power point, physical sample boards)
  • Assist in all administrative tasks necessary to facilitate projects
  • Order, file, return and maintain samples and resource library
  • Online research of products in adherence to project style, needs, budget
  • Project documentation of meeting notes, progress, tasks, budgets and deadlines

 

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Practical working knowledge of interior design, kitchen & bath design, and furniture selections
  • Excellent customer service, concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented, precise, strong organizational skills, and commitment to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
  • Punctuality, accuracy, time management skills, and reliability
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, professional, optimistic, and thorough
  • Ability to work independently, know when to ask questions
  • Complete tasks efficiently and document accurately
  • Desire to learn new tasks and grow current skills and knowledge
  • Exhibits technical and common sense as well as emotional intelligence
  • Candidate must be proficient in all of the following programs:
    • Revit
    • Enscape
    • Dropbox
    • Office 365 – Excel, Word, Power Point, One Note
    • Social media – Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn
