In our last newsletter, we took a look back at where we began with Well Suited, a multi-phase project that we first got our hands on during the pandemic. We were able to move on from the previously completed primary bedroom, rounding out the primary suite.

In the bath, we shifted the space from what was once a much-too-large shower to accommodate both a shower and freestanding soaking tub. A clever ceiling cove hides the shower vent and linear LED lighting that washes the textured tile, highlighting its surface. Coordinating limestone flooring lends warmth and elegance.

The vanity location stayed put, but we reduced the window trim to allow for a new, custom full-width floating vanity. Now, instead of dropping to bench height, it continues below the window and adds tons of storage. To keep the connection between the bathroom and closet, we designed a custom metal-framed glass door that lets the light travel between the spaces.

Moving through past the bathroom into the closet, white oak cabinetry contrasts the existing dark floors, while leathered black quartzite matches the vanity for continuity. As doors are opened, the closet’s interior illuminates.

A small desk nestled into a corner is perfect for the client’s needs. Floating shelves incorporate lighting. A decorative sconce is visible from the connecting hallway, creating a beautiful visual from the bedroom. The resulting bedroom suite is calming and cozy – a modern take on timeless style that makes the perfect end-of-day retreat.
